Cassels articling student and UofT Law grad Marie Kiluu-Ngila was interviewed by CBC News for a piece on UofT’s Black Future Lawyers Program – a new program that supports black students who aspire to go to law school.
Marie says the program aims to ensure that all black applicants have their voices heard with the goal of seeing more black students pursue law school and ultimately building a diverse and inclusive legal profession that more accurately reflects the country we live in.
She encourages potential black students who may count themselves out to know that this program is here to make sure that they have the opportunity to attend and succeed in UofT’s law program.
Her advice to future law school students? “Never count yourself out. Never discount your experiences.”
