04/01/2020

On Tuesday March 31, 2020, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the Government of Canada will spend approximately $2 billion to buy much-needed health care equipment from Canadian companies who have re-tooled their operations in order to assist in the fight against COVID-19. Among the companies selected by the Government of Canada to be a provider of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the health care industry was Calko Group. Founded in 1954 Calko Group is a manufacturer of specialty textiles.

The company will supply, among other things, face masks, surgical gowns, scrubs and other much needed PPE. Over 3,000 companies reached out to the Government of Canada to offer assistance.

Congratulations to Calko Group for being selected and thank you for stepping up in this important effort to protect our country’s health care workers.
