Cassels believes that it is the interest of the firm, our clients, and our communities that all lawyers be given the opportunity to become and remain strong contributors to the partnership.

Recognizing the gender-related challenges facing women lawyers at all levels in their careers, the Women’s Advancement, Voices and Equity (WAVE) Committee assists the firm’s women lawyers in overcoming these challenges by making recommendations on firm policies, providing mentoring, marketing and training resources as needed, and generally facilitating women’s professional and business development successes and overall advancement within the firm and the broader legal community.

The WAVE Committee also works closely with the firm’s Women’s Affinity Group which is open to all firm members.

Our Perspective

“Although progress has been made in recent years, female lawyers continue to face challenges in the legal profession and the compensation, advancement,  and business development opportunities of female lawyers continues to lag behind their male counterparts. I am looking forward to what the WAVE Committee and the Women’s Affinity Group will accomplish as they work to maximize the involvement of women and their allies and provide a forum for meaningful discussion and change.” – Kristin Taylor, Managing Partner, Cassels
